Reflections from graduated student Vanna
I would like to offer my sincerest gratitude to Professor Cindy.
This thesis could not have been completed without her kind, patient and attentive guidance.
For me, I think the hardest part of writing the thesis is keeping myself motivated. I might be distracted by work and other stuff and paused writing. Once stopped, it would be hard to get moving again.
Put Professor's beautiful sticker on the items (such as phone) you use every day. It serves as a reminder to keep you going.
Here is some advice to my fellow peers.
Ch1. It’s a good start. Find the gap and think about the research questions.
Ch2. Professor’s excel sorting method REALLY help.
It reminds you the important parts of each research, so you don’t need to go back and read the papers again and again. Also, you can find what you need in each paper quickly with excel tools.
Ch3. Categorize the papers and draw outlines will help you shape the picture of Ch3.
Try to make a flowchart to make the methodology reader-friendly. It can be one of your ppt slices as well. Two birds with one stone.
Remember to change the tense after proposal.
Ch4. This is the EASTEST part! You have the microphone on your hand.
Just report your findings.
Ch5. The hardest part comes.
When writing Ch5, you need to go back to Ch2 (excel really helps) to compare your findings with results in the past studies. It may be similar to Ch4 but needs to go deeper for result analyses.
